The Hidden Oak Band

The Hidden Oak Band, commonly mixed up with the Black Oak band, is a large but surprisingly unheard of mercenary group. Especially since they employ a high number of bards. And bards do love singing a ballad of daring adventures. They are rather jolly folk, for mercenaries. For Mercenaries. The founder was an elf Bard named Zulera(Zoo-le-ra). She more commonly went by Lerra. She was separated from her elven clan, and because of some(many) unfortunate events, she ended up across the continent and then soon in the employment of a corsair. The captain was a copper skinned women by the name of Duela Val’Pravlor. Under Duela’s command the crew came to take over Kriems entire fleet. Kriem is, was, an other corsair commanding a small fleet of five mid sized ships. Duela soon expanded her smuggling opporations. She normally avoided violence, for she despised as she said “the killing of folk who needen’t be killed.” Back to Zulera. Zuelra was a talented individual and was raised up to captain of her own ship. When she got the promotion she left Zulera’s employment for longed to return to the forest whence she grew up. When she returned, near a year later, she found that her clan had dispersed into other elven clans due to the conquest of a deranged goblin, Brog(who just so happened to enjoy grog). She then started her mercenary group, then known as the Black Forest. She recruited a group of men fleeing from their former army. They had fled as they strongly disagreed with their commanders brutal policies to the point where they could not carry them out. This was of course the bands first major conflict. They eventually managed to convincingly fake the eight men’s deaths.

The organization focuses mostly on hired police work as well as some smuggling, all of course for a good cause. The corsair Duela sometimes helps them with these operations. She being the self proclaimed most reliable smuggler ever to sail. Lerra kept growing the band until it eventually grew to the size of a small army. Currently One-thousand seven hundred fifty-three. Still, as I mentioned before, the band has not gained much attention. They are very spread out and usually are somewhat secretive, as is policy. Thus there is an army in our midst, luckily bonded together by honor , comradery, and a wise leader.
